police investigators from are probing the murder of a 16-year-old student who was shot and killed on saturday january 22, 2202 in the parish.
The deceased has been identified as Chris-Jay Thompson of Irwin Heights, St James.
Mount Salem police reported that about 6:45 pm, Thompson was in his community when residents heard explosions. Then residents found Thompson on a roadway with gunshot wounds.
The police were notified about the situation. The police arrived and Thompson was assisted to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
No motive has yet been established for the killing
