Two Policemen who held up and robbed a Manchester businessman of his License Firearm and an undisclosed sum of money are now serving time in prison.
The two lawmen were sentenced on Friday april 9 , 2021 at the gun court.
one pleaded guilty and was sentenced to serve 7 years each for 2 counts of illegal possession of firearm and 10 years for robbery with aggravation. The sentences will however run concurrently.
The other was found guilty following weeks of trial was sentenced 15 years each on 2 counts of illegal possession of firearm and 18 years for robbery with aggravation. The sentences will also run concurrently.
The policemen were among 3 members of the JCF arrested in 2013 following the robbery at the businessman’s home in Manchester on October 2013. The 3rd police was acquitted.
it is said that the Policemen went to the businessman’s home and showed him an alleged wanted man picture. It is said the police told the businessman that they have information that the wanted man in his house and that they have a search warrant. The Policemen was allowed and while inside they help up the businessman and took his License Firearm from him and forced him to open a safe then took money from the safe. They also stole gold jewelry tied up the man and left the premises. Week after the incident the Policemen was detained by police and put on identification parade where they was identified. After that they had been charged.
