Manga honorable trial begin with drama

After years of delays, the murder trial of dancehall artiste Munga Honorable and his co-accused Sheridan Gordon started in the Home Circuit Court in Kingston On Monday. A witness, who alleged that she saw both men firing shots at Cleveland Smith who was killed during the 2017 incident in Ackee Walk, St Andrew jamaica. The witness told the court that Smith’s body remained motionless beside a bicycle after the shooting. At one point Both Munga, whose given name is Damian Rhoden, and Gordon had their bail temporarily revoked during proceedings and were escorted from the courtroom in handcuffs. However, following submissions from the defence, the trial judge later extended their bail until Thursday.The case centres on the fatal shooting of Smith, who was reportedly attacked during an entertainment event in the community. He was transported to Kingston Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
